About this cushion cover :
The traditional kimono belt called “obi” is a long belt with a length of approximately 4 meters and a width of 35 centimetres.
Finely decorated and adorned, the “obi” is one of the symbols of Japanese aesthetics. A new belt can cost many thousands of euros. However, nowadays, people are less wearing kimono and therefore making second hand obis easier to find.
At Monoya Tokyo, we want to give a new life to these wonderful fabrics with such a rich history. Our creations are almost unique copies as in the best case; we can produce at most only four cushion covers from one single obi in a good condition.
All our creations are made by hand in our studio in Tokyo, we also take customized orders so feel free to contact us if you have any ideas to share with us.
Warnings:
The belt being antique, it can happen that it has small imperfections even if we always choose quality fabrics. To wash your product, we recommend using professional dry cleaning services.
Shipping:
We use the services of the Japanese Post to ship our packages outside of Japan. For every order, we automatically charge 3 euros for postage tracking, to which will be added an amount depending on the chosen product. In this case, 8 euros will be added per cushion cover. It usually takes a week to ship to Europe or North America.
It is possible to wrap your gifts in traditional washi papers. You can ask us directly when you make your order.
