About this Japanese cushion cover:
The traditional kimono belt called “obi” is a long belt about 4m long and about 35cm wide. Finely decorated and ornate, it is one of the symbols of Japanese aesthetics. When bought new, it costs several thousand euros but, nowadays, the wearing of kimonos having fallen into disuse, there is no shortage of second-hand purchases.
With Monoya Tokyo, we have chosen to give a new life to these wonderful fabrics full of history. Our creations are almost unique because in the best case, we can make only four cushion covers from an obi in good condition.
Cautionary notes:
As the belt is old, there may be some small imperfections even if we choose quality fabrics.
For washing, we recommend dry cleaning by a professional.
